Statement

I am working with the mourning as a process that is related to objects and places that were lived by the deceased.

I’m interested in the idea of emptiness that is passed by the absence of the mentioned relationship. The rupture turns homes into monastic spaces where there is only some vestige of the person that lived in such place.

Through photography I explore the relationship between the persons and their objects. I like to give a new meaning to those spaces through the unconscious and involuntary action of the ones that remain alive. That is why I work in auctions and sales of the property who passed away.

The idea of the passing time and its relationship with mortality are conceptually present throughout my work. However the formal resolution is the timeless photo image.

Through our lives we leave behind several spaces. The first one is our clildhood bedroom. Many others will follow, until we remain in the one in which death or even life transforms it in the final one.
